چکیده

Increased adoption of the systems approach to biological research has focused attention on the use of quantitative models of biological objects. This includes a need for realistic three-dimensional (3D) representations of plant shoots for quantification and modeling. Previous limitations in single-view or multiple-view stereo algorithms have led to a reliance on volumetric methods or expensive hardware to record plant structure. We present a fully automatic approach to image-based 3D plant reconstruction that can be achieved using a single low-cost camera. The reconstructed plants are represented as a series of small planar sections that together model the more complex architecture of the leaf surfaces. The boundary of each leaf patch is refined using the levelset method, optimizing the model based on image information, curvature constraints, and the position of neighboring surfaces. The reconstruction process makes few assumptions about the nature of the plant material being reconstructed and, as such, is applicable to a wide variety of plant species and topologies and can be extended to canopy-scale imaging. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach on data sets of wheat (Triticum aestivum) and rice (Oryza sativa) plants as well as a unique virtual data set that allows us to compute quantitative measures of reconstruction accuracy. The output is a 3D mesh structure that is suitable for modeling applications in a format that can be imported in the majority of 3D graphics and software packages.

Comparison of Adsorption Properties of Activated Carbons with Different Crops Residues as Precursors for Gold Cyanide Recovery: An Iranian Gold Industry Guide

Adsorption of gold cyanide on three types of Activated Carbons (ACs) has been investigated in batch and column adsorption conditions. Applied ACs have been derived from different crops precursors i.e., coconut shell (CAC), peach stone (PAC), and walnut shell (WAC). As peach stone and walnut shells are abundant agricultural residues in Iran, the activated carbons produced from these precurso...

In this research paper, an experimental breakthrough curve for citric acid in an adsorption recovery process was determined by an ion-exchange resin in 20, 35, 55 °C. Also, a mathematical model for breakthrough curve was presented. Among ion exchange resins that have been experienced, many weak and strong basic anionic resins are available such as, IRA-92, IRA-93, IRA-420 and IRA-458 and all of...

اثر زئولیت و ورمی‌کمپوست بر ویژگی‌های رشدی و غلظت برخی عناصر گل اطلسی

Petunia is one of the most popular flowers in the urban greeneries. The effects of zeolite and vermicompost media on some quantitative and qualitative characteristics of petunia were studied in a greenhouse experiment. Treatments consisted of three levels of zeolite (2.5, 5 and 10 % w/w) and three levels of vermicompost (2.5, 5 and 10 % w/w). In control treatment, no zeolite and vermicompost wa...

Factors influencing in vitro plant regeneration of Liquorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra L.)

An efficient and reproducible in vitro protocol for largescale multiplication of Liquorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra L.)has been described. Multiple shoots formation was significantly influenced by growth regulators, photoperiod, explant position, season of explant collection and culture passage. Nodal explants were collected atmonthly intervals to initiate in vitro cultures. The hig...
